Christmas Message 2011

“‘I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’”

- Shine, Give, Share -

During the Christmas season, our thoughts turn to the source of joy and hope born in a humble manger on a holy night more than 2,000 years ago. Each year, people everywhere celebrate this single life that changed the world and continues to change hearts today.

When Christmas brings together families, friends, and communities to rejoice in the birth of Jesus Christ and celebrate the wonderful gifts God has bestowed upon us, we reaffirm the simple and inspiring message of love, grace, and redemption that fills our souls with gratitude for the many blessings in our lives and promises that God’s purpose is justice and His plan is peace. A message that says no matter who we are, we are called to love one another – we are our brother’s keeper, we are our sister’s keeper, our separate stories in this big and busy world are really one.

Christmas is a time to reflect, rejoice and renew, as well as to remember the love of family and friends, the bonds of community and country, and the light He brought into the world continues to break through darkness and change people’s lives two thousand years later.

The glory shines in the highest heaven, and on earth we give thanks for Jesus Christ, and share mercy to those less fortunate, just as God showed it to us. We also remember those who have been serving to secure God’s gift of freedom for everyone around the nation and the globe. All Chinese are indebted to these men and women and their families for their sacrifice and devotions to democracy, liberty and patriotism.

Now, therefore, I wish you a warm Christmas and a fantastic New Year as well as the everlasting faith to carry on what you believe in.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
